Be Sober – Stay Sober – Quit Alcohol Programme – visit website

Quit Alcohol App Review Overall Rating: 4.8 out of 5 Stars

Launched in 2020 I am honoured to be part of the team behind this incredible quit drinking tool. So of course I am going to put it first in the list of the best quit alcohol apps. However, I have ensured all reviews are written from a neutral perspective to ensure you find a sober tool that is right for your specific needs.

Users of the programme have described Be Sober – Stay Sober as a fantastic tool that is loaded with features and perfect for people who want to change their relationship with alcohol, it is ideal for anyone who wants to quit drinking or maintain their sobriety long term.

Although the Be Sober – Stay Sober programme is not an App (you won’t find it in the App Store), once you have joined the programme on the website www.joinbesober.com it takes under 30 seconds to set it as an App on your smartphone, simple instructions are provided when you join.

The programme has been designed so it is fully functional on mobile and tablet devices and it works as a high-end learning and training app, with the goal of helping users become sober if that is what they want to achieve. The programme is without doubt the best available due to the level of engagement and the fact that users feel part of a community and supported on the journey to alcohol-freedom.

The beauty of this powerful quit alcohol programme is that it includes a structured audio course with over 80 lessons, which users can listen to while they are out and about, in the car or from the comfort of their own home.

On top of this, the programme includes live coaching sessions for users to join in real time, or you can watch them back as a replay. None of the other apps reviewed include coaching as a feature, making Be Sober – Stay Sober stand out as the perfect choice for anyone who is really serious about making a lasting change.

The platform is user friendly, easy to navigate and allows users to work at their own pace. On top of this, the programme includes access to a members-only Facebook group alongside support from coaches via live chat, email and messenger.

The cost is a little higher than some of the other quit alcohol apps reviewed, however, when you consider that this programme includes real support from an alcohol coach alongside a structured audio programme it represents fantastic value for money. There is also a 14 day free trial to help you decide if you the programme is what you need.

Although I am biased, I truly believe this app is the best in class if you are looking for something that will give you a clear path to quitting alcohol alongside support, coaching, accountability and connection along the way.

Twenty Four Hours a DayQuit Alcohol Apps, Best Apps to Stop Drinking, Sober Apps

Quit Alcohol App Review Overall Rating: 4.2 out of 5 Stars

The Twenty Four Hours a Day app promises to allow users to find inspiration anywhere, at any time.

In essence the app provides 366 daily meditations from the best-selling meditation book for people in recovery from addiction. Since 1954, more than 10 million people have been inspired by these readings, which include a thought, meditation, and prayer for each day.

The Twenty-Four Hours a Day app makes it easy to access fast sobriety inspiration whenever and wherever you need it.

Other than the motivation I found the app to be lacking in terms of any features that will help users learn how to quit drinking and there is no support or tools other than the meditation readings.

This app is a great addition to the sober toolbox, but on its own it does not provide enough by way of features to help someone actually quit alcohol.

Summary of features

  • Daily inspiration message
  • Access past daily messages
  • Meditations and the ability to bookmark
  • Daily notifications

I Am Sober

Quit Alcohol App Review Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

I am a big fan of the I Am Sober app, I originally downloaded it as a free sobriety day counter app. But quickly found that it offered more than just a tool for counting the hours, days, weeks and months since I quit drinking.

Along with tracking your sober days, it helps can help you work on building new habits and provides ongoing motivation by connecting you to a wide network of people all striving for the same goal: staying sober one day at a time.

The App provides a daily motivation and a daily pledge feature which can help users stay focused on their goals, alerts can be set to hit your phone at a time of day that works for you.

The developers behind the App are working on a support feature and it already has the ability to share your story with other members for an additional level of accountability and connection.

If this App had been my only tool to quit drinking I don’t believe it would have been enough, it has worked really well for me as a compliment to the other tools and programmes I used and but I mainly use it as a day counter and motivation tool.

Summary of features

  • Sober day tracker
  • Daily pledges & review
  • Sobriety calculator
  • Share your story

  • Withdrawal timeline
  • Limited support with more to come in the future

Nomo

Quit Alcohol App Review Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Stars

Nomo was created by a former drinker who saw a need for a tool to keep himself on track and motivated. It was born out of his passion for helping others on the path to freedom from alcohol.

Similar to the I Am Sober App the main purpose of Nomo is to help users track how long they have been alcohol-free. The best thing about Nomo is that it is a free quit alcohol app.

If you’re looking for a simple clock that can track the number of days you’ve been sober, then Nomo is a great quit alcohol app for you. Users can create as many clocks as they wish, meaning you can track the time since you last did just about anything.

There are several optional features that make Nomo more than just a day counter and a popular choice as a companion App in sobriety.
